I'm sure many of you have now seen the new hotamil layout with tabbed conversations that expand out on a mouse click. After Microsoft's reputation of copying from obviously better companies - for example the lovely OSX-style Start Bar in Windows 7 - you were probably wondering where they got their latest inspiration from. It strongly reminds me of Google's alternative to email, Google Wave, though while Google has a complete underlying infrastructure to its product, Microsoft's new user interface is as to be expected: just a face. We still have the same inefficient mailing system going on behind the scenes. We can only hope that maybe this will be the first stepping stone to something new. Wish I could say the same about IE 9! After many months of hard labouring I've finally managed to persuade the rather less useful parts of my conscience that this site is better finished than sitting on the drawing board!
